2 Days Safari in Tsavo East & Tsavo West National Park

This is a Kenya Safari that combines a tour of two of the major national parks in Kenya, namely Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks.

The Safari tour leaves from the Kenya coast beach resorts.

The tour provides a chance to explore the red soiled plains of the Tsavo East and the scenic hilly terrain of the Tsavo West National park.

On the morning of day one you shall enter Tsavo East National park for game viewing drives and later proceed to the Tsavo West for more game and scenery viewing drives including the Mzima Springs and Rhino sanctuary.

Overnight shall be at your Tsavo West economy, standard or luxury safari lodge or tented camp.

Tour transport and game viewing drives are by private open top safari minivan

Option of a 4 x 4 land cruiser jeep is offered at a supplementary cost.

The tour is offered as a private safari for 1,2,3,4,5,6 persons booked together.

Tsavo East National Park

  • Elephant in Eden – the sight of dust-red elephant wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of Palm- shaded Galana River is one of the most evocative image of Africa.
  • Aruba Dam -The beautiful Aruba dam located on the north bank of the seasonal Voi River, is visited by thousands of animals and a great game viewing destination.

DAY 1: MOMBASA – TSAVO EAST (120 KMS – Appx 2.5 hours)

Pick up is from your Beach resort

We shall depart the Kenya Coast for an inland trip through the Mombasa -Nairobi highway.

We shall start game viewing drives on entry at the Tsavo East National park with focus on the Aruba dam and Kanderi swamp areas of the park where there is a higher number of game to be spotted.

We shall traverse the Savannah plains of the Tsavo East in search of game

In the afternoon we will proceed to the scenic Tsavo west National park and start game viewing on entry.

We shall then visit the Rhino Sanctuary and make more game viewing drive in search of wildlife.

Overnight stay at your Tsavo west safari lodge/ tented camp.

What you may see at Tsavo East National park: The Park is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust-red elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard , pods of hippo, waterbucks, Lesser Kudu, Gerenuk and Hirola.

 

DAY 2. TSAVO WEST – MOMBASA (240 KMS – Appx 5 hours)

This day starts early as we embark on an early pre-breakfast game viewing drive.

We shall catch the African sunrise in its glory as the beauty of the wild unfolds amid the freshness and chill of the morning.

We shall look at the grazers and hunters as nature unfolds oblivious of our presence.

We shall be out on a game viewing drive as we head to the Mzima springs where we will leave our vehicles and explore the natural haven on foot.

Here, we will view hippos, crocodiles, exotic fish and a variety of bird species.

The greenery surrounding Mzima springs is a welcome contrast from the harsh terrain that forms the bulk of Tsavo

We later proceed to the Kenyan Coast and arrive in the late afternoon.

Drop off at your Kenya beach hotel or Mombasa Airport
